[Murray has found himself outside a lot lately, in the cold and the snow, but now it's time to take advantage of it. He is currently sitting on top of the fountain, soaked and icy. He has some little icicles forming in his eye sockets and at the back of his skull. Despite his icy situation, he seems diabolically cheery, calling out to random people passing by.]

Beware my frozen sockets of doom! This land will be smothered in the winters of death! Beware! Turn back! Turn back! Before the frozen depths of hell envelop you! [And other such threatening comments.]

Show yourself! [Eggman looks around more, finally spotting a semi-frozen Murray on the fountain.]

Oh ho ho! [Eggman clutches his large stomach and laughs.] My worst nightmare doesn't involve a talking skull! But how are you doing that?

Er, how am I doing what?

[Eggman is relatively unfazed by this attempt at terror. He's more interested in looking for where the wires are coming from in this obvious robot.]

Talking through that skull like that! I assume you wired it to your journal, or else you constructed a complex wireless communications system. But that's unlikely!

[He's easy to search, being half frozen and stuck on the fountain.]

I am a powerful demonic force! I need no wireless, er um...I speak through my own mighty will!

Ho ho ho! Give it up! Where are you really? [Eggman starts to look around for any signs of a person nearby.]

[Murray watches Eggman for a moment, clacking his teeth a bit and looking a little baffled. The others he met seemed pretty nonplussed at the idea of a talking skull.]

I am me! As if any mere mortal could use me!

[notshadowfever]

[Eggman turns back to Murray's skull-y form and blinks.]

You mean to tell me you really are a skull? [Eggman thinks on this.] I suppose it's possible, giving the heavy presence of ghosts in some of my fortresses!

Ooo [with a sort of eager almost laugh.] Did they haunt your every move? Torment your soul to the bitter depths of insanity??

Torment is one way of putting it! [Eggman balls his fists just remembering those irritating ghosts.] They mostly just jumped out and shouted 'boo!' at me. More irritating than frightening. I once invented a special capsule to trap them but that turned out to be a waste of time!

Such hellish forces cannot be contained! But if they could...they could be released on any unsuspecting fool!

Ho ho ho! Yes, and they were! Unfortunately, the ghosts weren't very good at pursuing my enemies. [Eggman frowns at this. He's totally forgotten he's talking to a skull, too.] These days I just leave them a few ancient statues to haunt, it usually keeps them out of my way.

They have statues? All to themselves? Ancient statues? That would be perfect! Adventurers are always after stuff like that. Why they must be positively busy with people to torment! Lucky...[He mutters something unintelligible, but certainly insulting.]

They do get a few heroes to pounce on when my fortresses are invaded! Ba ha ha!

[Eggman suddenly wonders something.] So, do you haunt ancient artefacts, or are you limited to just haunting frozen skulls on fountains?

I am limited to nothing! But, I don't haunt things. I mean I do, but...I'm a skull, not a ghost!

I just play one in crypts.

Sounds pretty limited to me! But what manner of strange power gives you the ability to speak?

Oh, is that all? [Eggman looks deeply disappointed.] How disappointing.

Is that all? Is that ALL? The last man who made such a comment won't be doing so again. [A small chuckle, ignoring the fact that the only reason it won't happen again is due to separate worlds and not fear at all. Accursed so called mighty pirate.]

Really, now? [Eggman sounds cynical and raises his index finger.] So tell me, what fate befell this fellow?
